about hen

Hi! I’m Hen (short for Henrietta), a nurse and a grad student in San Francisco. Amidst my busy schedule of working, going to school, and walking my dog, I somehow find time to try new recipes. I have to admit though that as much as I love to cook and bake, I am still an amateur. In the recent years, I’ve been avidly reading cookbooks and food blogs, watching cooking shows, and experimenting in the kitchen. Without being able to do so, I can’t imagine having made it this far in nursing school. This food blog documents my adventures in the kitchen, and ultimately, my journey to becoming a better cook and baker.

    I have the pleasure in meetin Hen in person at the Clinic and tried one of her famous red velvet all vegan cup cake. It is to die for! Hen is very humble and on her way to be a medical provider. I personally think she should open a sweet deli shop and work only part time seeing patients. It is more fun this way.
